Before being incorporated as a nonprofit agency in 1982. The roots of WPGF began in 1978 with Margie (Davis) Henderson's vision and call to travel with the tour and to provide weekly Bible studies for the Christians on the tour. Before 1978 studies and prayer meetings were coordinated by the tour pros themselves. Periodically, other ministries, local churches or Christian business persons would host outreach dinners at various tournament sites. The tour pros, who began the vision of having a consistent ministry on tour, contacted Margie and invited her to Wheeling, WV to lead the Bible studies. With the encouragement of Marilyn and Denny Rydberg, Margie began traveling weekly to each tournament providing consistent ministry and outreach. In 1982, Margie and tour professional Murle Breer saw the hope of having a special conference at the beginning of the year for tour professionals become reality... and the first T-Off" was hosted. Not only was the conference successful, but it was the launching of AM becoming a ministry with purpose. organization and non-profit status. What began as a handful of pros meeting in motel rooms has now grown to weekly meetings attended by an average of pros 20-30 pros and caddies. With marriage and family responsibilities increasing. Margie passed the leadership to Cris Stevens who has served as Director since 1984.
